Qatar · Radiotherapy

NCCCR radiotherapy room

A full redesign of a linear accelerator room at the National Center for Cancer Care and Research in Doha. Radmed designed the room from the ground up, replacing all electrical, mechanical and interior elements, and fitted its concealed-mechanism hinged radiation shielding door.

The work was carried out while the hospital stayed fully operational, with phasing planned around patient and staff safety. The room was handed over in time for the Varian linear accelerator, supplied by Aamal Medical, to be installed by October 2023.

Ghana · Cyclotron and nuclear medicine

SGMC Cyclotron Centre

The first facility of its kind in Ghana. Across two floors, a cyclotron and cleanroom laboratories on the ground floor produce radiopharmaceuticals for a nuclear medicine department on the floor above.

The centre is being built to European and international standards, including those of the IAEA. Equipment comes from IBA and Siemens. Solar energy and extra-durable plumbing and mechanical materials were chosen for long-term operation on a remote site.
